This is a list of Classical Chinese Gardens within China, laid out by province. The names of Chinese classical gardens are very problematic in English; this list aims to capture all the major variants, both in Chinese and in English. Often translating the name of the garden is of little purpose, instead the English version is the way the name sounds not what the name means. This list is incomplete. It would be impossible to list every single garden in China. Instead we concentrate on the most important and those that are publicly accessible.
